3 Quick Tips For Self Care: Say “Yes” To Yourself

When was the last time you said, “yes” to yourself? I understand you're a full time business owner/entrepreneur, a mom, a dad, or you live for the thrill of the go, go, go making sure you beat that deadline. Maybe you work in a service industry where everything is about the customer experience and you have no time for yourself?

Do you have a hard time saying “No” to others?

I feel you! You don’t want to let that person down. I mean after all they are your #1 customer and have been with you since the start of your business. Or when that person really really needs you, especially when it comes to your “baby” you have to drop everything.

I see you! You have an extraordinary work ethic and work around the clock. You barely have time to eat, let alone think about making time for yourself.

I hear you! You don’t hate your job but you don’t absolutely love it either. Your body is aching & fatigued, you have sleepless nights, your mind is foggy, and when you think you have it all under control you get hit with another work deadline. You often wonder, is this what my life has come to be?

I honor you! You are making huge strides to loving yourself and empowering yourself that supports you. Yet, there is still a feeling that leaves you wanting more, seeking more, desiring more from life.

How does that commercial go??? Here’s to a healthier, shinier, more beautiful you from the inside out. That leaves you wanting more! More “me” time, more “us” time, more self-care time! Here are 3 Quick Tips for saying, “Yes” to yourself.

3 Quick Tips For Self-Care:

1) Learn to say, “No” to others. Seriously, practice it. Start small and then add on by saying, “Yes” to yourself and schedule “me” or “us” time. For example, if you don't feel a "hell yes" then it's a "No." Saying, "No" to a job opportunity, a friend, a family member, or even your partner is not easy. After all you do enjoy spending time with them. Being able to communicate clearly is key, because right now you need a little extra "me" time.

2) Reframe your mindset. Don’t beat yourself up. It is normal for the mind to be agitated and the body to break down when you have been constantly pouring into others, into your family, into your work. Give yourself grace and space. Say “Yes” to yourself and repeat, “I give myself Grace and Space.” (Especially during those mommy and daddy moments of toddler terrors and teenage hormones.)

3) In this next moment, before moving on to the next to-do list, ask yourself, “how can I give myself 10 minutes?” 10 minutes of your inner-Sanctuary, what does that look like to you?

This may seem like a no brainer or maybe you have tried doing this before. So what is different this time? This time you are going to implement and make it a deliberate self-care practice. It doesn't matter if it is a daily, weekly, or monthly practice. Starting is half of the battle when the mind is telling you all these other things that you need to get done or you should have gotten done. Throw out those excuses that you keep reciting and schedule in your calendar, “Grace & Space for your Self-Care.”

Are you looking for a self-care routine where you don’t have to think? Perfect! Let’s get you scheduled for a reiki session or a guided meditation.

If you feel motivated to start a self-care practice or inspired by 1 of the 3 Quick Tips, Don't Wait! Go ahead and share with your friends and family, they may need a friendly reminder too.
